TREME, the new series from the makers of THE WIRE, debuted to big ratings on Sunday night in the USA. HBO immediately renewed the show for a second season and HBO head of programming Michael Lombardo stated that TREME Season 2 should run alongside the first season of GAME OF THRONES, backing up the previously-given date of March-May 2011 for THRONES' debut.
Lombardo also, curiously, said that reshoots for the THRONES pilot will be 'nothing major', despite the requirements for reshooting all of Catelyn Stark's material (due to Jennifer Ehle's departure and her replacement with Michelle Fairley), including presumably the huge feast scene, and growing strong indications that Daenerys' material will also need to be reshot, given that HBO are currently auditioning again for the role.
Announcements on casting for other key Season 1 roles, such as Littlefinger, Renly Baratheon, Ser Barristan Selmy and Lord Tywin Lannister, are expected in the coming weeks.

Good news about Treme. Good pilot. Though the ratings weren't all that big.
