Here's what the artist apparently had to say Sareitha Sedai Send a noteboard - 07/05/2010 03:19:09 AM

But Elayne doesn't have such red hair.

I just read about the dress too, but no way Elayne has such red hair or such height.

...the height is more a function of the perspective of the picture. And the raised chin

Not really. Aviendha looks tiny.

Thank you so much for all the kind words!!! Just to settle up with all of you, it's like this:
Elayne on the left, Aviendha center, Nynaeve on the right. It's true that because we're seeing it a bit from below and Aviendha is farther away in the circle, she looks a little less tall. And all of the hair colors are being influenced by the rainbow colored light which is just beginning to form an intricate braid at this point in the illustration.

But why am I complaining. She at least looks like a twenty year old woman, instead of a head with a twisted neck floating above a shawl.

LOL, true enough I actually like this depiction a lot. I've always pictured Elayne with hair that could look red or red-gold depending on the light, and since she's in shadow on the cover, it would be darker red. If anything, Avi's isn't red enough, but then, she's got the light shining on her (and they probably wanted distinct hair colors for the 3 women in the image).
If you are from Betelgeuse, please have one of your Earth friends read what I've written before you respond. Or try concentrating harder.

That has to be Elayne on the left. - 06/05/2010 08:46:26 PM 972 Views
Yeah,I think you're right. The red hair confused me (though Aviendha also doesn't have red hair) *NM* - 06/05/2010 08:49:25 PM 759 Views
Where does it say that, cause she does. Or at least "reddish" (source:encyclopedia wot and me) *NM* - 06/05/2010 09:03:53 PM 485 Views
Really? I thought Aviendha is blond. *NM* - 06/05/2010 09:09:17 PM 375 Views
Encyclopedia wot also describes Elayne as having a "mass of sunburst curls" - 06/05/2010 09:58:55 PM 1226 Views
Yet Aviendha is described as having "dark red hair", which clinches her as the woman on the left *NM* - 06/05/2010 10:35:38 PM 494 Views
Not for me. - 07/05/2010 03:10:44 AM 1060 Views
Really?! The woman in the middle has the "sunhair" IMO. *NM* - 21/05/2010 06:10:58 AM 376 Views
Sareitha is from Krypton, where the sun is red. Hence her confusion. *NM* - 22/05/2010 06:39:49 PM 413 Views
