The point I was making is that Rand presumably would not think being killed by Gawyn would fullfill a prophecy, even if in reality it would, so he would/should do all in his power to prevent it or if its too late and he is already dying, to undo it.


My point was that Rand won't necessarily have a choice in it, and I don't see why you are focusing on a scenario in which Rand would have a choice. It's illogical.

I have learned after a number of years that some arguments aren't worth the time. Every now and then I get a good comment from someone that actually adds something to the discussion, but there is little point in this sort of argument, IMO. It's not really important to me that everyone believe this theory - I'm not trying to start a religion - it's only important that I be right, and we won't know that till the book comes out. :D And the theory might change a good deal before then. We will see.
