Re: Apparently to deal with DF among the Sea Folk darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 01/06/2010 02:43:30 PM
Alviarin's thoughts after her return in CoT, ch.21, indicate that she got orders from Mesaana to meet several DF in all over the Westlands from Mesaana some time before the Cleansing. It was only coincidence that Alviarin also saw the suicide of the Amayar, after the female Choedan Kal was destroyed. Likely like other Forsaken, Mesaana has her private DF network to gather informations and increase chaos, etc.

re-reading that chapter it sounds more like Mesaana sent Alviarin to investigate the events surrounding the Cleansing. Alviarin notes that she went to the site of the Cleansing and also was clearly in Tremalking. Mesaana would have known that only the female CK could have been used for that and thus sent Alviarin to check on the statue to see if it had survived.

Certainly Alviarin had to deal with other DFs on this trip since she mentions how much she hates not being able to "teach even one an object lesson because they reported to another Chosen" ... makes me think she was dealing with one of Semirhage's people on Tremalking. I'm thinking she had dealings with some of the Seanchan who currently hold the Island.
