I took a theme and connected everything that fits. Just because one correlation is drawn does not mean that others can't apply as well. BS said that the "land is one with the dragon" concept is going to REALLY show itself in the last two books.

Rand says he cannot battle the Shadow and the Seanchan at the same time. And Shadar Logoth is gone.

I see what your saying, but I do not think that our perspectives are in conflict.

I think they are.

The Seanchan are about completely different things than the Shadar Logoth themes. It's totally unconnected.

The Shadar Logoth wound is about "The Victory of the Light supercedes everything, and even becoming as evil as the Shadow to figh the Shadow is acceptable".

The wound is primarly reflected on the Land with the Black Tower and Rand's "all you are are weapons, I've created you only to die defeating the Shadow at TG". It's about the horror Rand has fostered there, chosing Taim and implementing this mentality. Rand has cleansed saidin and destroyed SL, but the two wounds are still there. he thought he saved the Asha'man from madness with the Cleansing, but the madness Rand has created at the BT wasn't cleansed. Taim is still there, his forces getting bigger.

It's also about Masema, and Rand thinking he could use such a fanatic.

It's about Rand's tyranical sides, and how he tried to force everyone to follow him because the victory of the light is all. Everyone had to abandon everything and follow his orders, nothing else counted, they had to focus on him and his fights - the Shadow... or any enemy Rand saw fit.

It's about all the divisions within the Light, in a general way. All the mistrust, all the schemes and inter-faction conflicts (including the Seanchan), how even Rand's allies mistrust one another, and more and more mistrust him and he them.

This is how the second wound is reflected in the Land, while the first was tied to Rand's growing madness and the gradual increase of Shai'tan's power. The darker the Dragon became, the more food spoiled and bubbles of evil happened etc. It took a big turn for the worse after he has touched the TP himself.

Maybe the wounds indicate that they all need to work together. *NM* - 15/06/2010 02:28:25 AM 481 Views
