But it doesnt make sense to me that the DO can grant or deny access to his essense (the TP) yet, if the OP is the Creator's gift, a corrupted soul (even so far as one that uses the TP) still has access to the Creator's gift. Why should the DO be able to grant and deny access, but the Creator cannot? IMO it indicates that the OP is not the Creator's essence gifted to a person because there would be an imbalance between the two sides.
Rand/Moridin:
"The Creator had made the world and then left humankind to make of it what they would, a heaven or the Pit of Doom by their choosing"
If the voice in EotW is also the Creator, then we have further evidence that the Creator does not directly interfere, which removing OP from the forsaken would be. Think of the Creator as representing freedom and choice, while the DO represents control and slavery. The Creator lets his creations do what they want to do, even if that means using OP to serve the DO. He won't stop a channeler from touching the OP because he thinks its up to the humans themselves to do what they will.
The DO however is all about control, unlike the Creator he makes lots of rules which include carefully controlling and regulating access to his power, and the OP too since he does not allow OP channeling near him. We also have things like mindtraps and other slavery mechanics which he personally makes.
So ultimately the reason why the Forsaken can channel OP&TP while the lightsiders only have OP is because the Creator and Dark One are different and believe in different values and ideals.
Thats my thoughts on the matter.

The 2 sides are not balanced equally, they are anathema to each other.

It isn't. The Creator bought the True Source (the OP) into being to drive the Wheel of Time.
