Miks Warp 10; Winters Bard – “You? No!” (Oh gawd.. no more!!) - Edit 2

I think the Nae'Blis killed Asmodean.
And here's why in a nuttshell....
Opportunity:
Bashere was brought to the Royal Palace by a Gateway in the room where Asmodean was killed. Moridin was trying to get another 'serpent in the bossom' near Rand.
Bashere just comes walking up to Rand with no guards/ aiel, while the whole city is loaded with them and the gates of the city are all held by Rands forces.
He "incongruously" carries a jar of wine and two silver goblets?!. That all screams "Gateway", and pretty near to Rand too.
In that same scene where Bashere meats Rand for the first time, he pledges to Rand near-instantly. He's the only noble to ever do so that quickly, full-well realizing his Queen would never aprove. It all just stands out. And besides...nine-thousand cavalry 'hunting' a male channeler (who we later find out allready knew how to Travel)?
Might as well send a baby-girl to kill an armed navy-seal that can teleport!
Asmodean stumbled in on where the Nae'Blis made the Gateway to by 'pure chance'. Pure chance; it doesn't get more random/casual then that. I'd say it is 'intuitively obvious' connected to Ishamael. Well, to me anyway.
And on top of all that there's RJ just telling us;
'Intuitively obvious' to the most casual observer.
If that isn't RJ humor, I don't know what is! If you had to name one character in the books the 'most casual observer', who would you pick?
In other words; the most random Watcher... the most unplanned Lurker..it would definitely be the Nae'Blis!
It's a dead give-away by RJ... if you already realized who the killer was and why, IMO.
Means:
The True Power Gateway from his wicked room near Shayol Ghul (this is why Asmodean said "You?", not recognizing the person directly, but knowing instantly who it was by association with the room he was staring into. It was unique and he knew it.
Asmodean said "No!" when he saw the weaves for True Power Balefire forming.
Exit Asmodean to the left of the stage.
Do not go past Start, but go straight to Shai'tans Prison of Eternal Pain and Suffering! Thanks for playing!)
Asmodean took one step into the room. He was standing in the Gateway. Literally one foot was in the room near Shayol Ghul and the other one was in the Palace still.
This is why the WHERE matters too, instead of just the HOW (Balefire) of why Shai'tan couldn't have Transmigated Asmodean (not that he ever would have).
Asmodean was killed on a Crossroad: in the doorway/ gateway.
Cross"Roadkill" so to speak.
Motive:
Easy as 1-2-3.
1: Asmodean was a triator, regardless if he still viewed himself as worshipping the Great Lord.
2: Ishamael was always the one who wanted to teach Rand. This gave him the chance to create a 'vacant spot' he could fill.
3: He would have had to kill anyone who would have found him there anyway.
There.. I said it!
Now. tear. me. apart!
Cheerio,
Mik
