I was attracted to the title like a moth to a flame... but it was so ludicrous I gave it a miss.

that all of the heterosexual male population of Randland would agree that Lanfear is the most beautiful woman in their world (if they saw her). In real life, there is no such consensus, mostly because beauty has a different meaning to different people. I've yet to be in a room with over 5 random men who all agree on who the most beautiful woman in the world is (or even who the hottest woman in the world is).

That's why I think Lanfear is cheating in some way.

Some people have mentioned a ter'angreal that makes her look beautiful - I think the effects of that would have to work the same way as compulsion, in that peoples' natural perceptions and beliefs would have to be altered to recognize Lanfear as 'most beautiful woman evar'


Yes you are right... it is a stupid thing to say. No one would agree on who the most beautiful woman in the world is. They could only make a list of potentials. It's as bad as Demandred being the 2nd greatest man in the world... you cannot possibly say that about anyone.
