The Dragon versus the Dragon Reborn, who would win & why?

This is Rand as he is exactly now vs LTT as he was exactly then.

Remember this is to the DEATH.

If you happen to click to reply, I'm going to say that LTT, when he was alive, would obviously defeat Rand. Both were/are ta'veren, both are as strong as a man can be, but LTT has centuries of experience and knowledge on his side. He'd destroy Rand.

I am fully aware that Rand pre the series vs LTT is a no brainer. I even agree that Rand as himself without LTT ever being in his head vs LTT is also a no brainer.

HOWEVER, with LTT's training I feel that Rand is now more deadly than LTT. Just because LTT taught him how to do things, doesn't mean that the 'student' can not overcome the 'master'.

Again, in my post I said "Rand as he is _exactly now_ vs LTT as he was exactly then" and I think that Rand now (trained), the books have proven is a match for LTT, with better 'on screen' feats. Ltt _may_ have better feats, but not with much solid proof to go on, or on screen feats. Maybe he killed 30 Chosen, maybe none, but there's no proof he ever killed Ishamael and Rand has, even if just by dueling him he still killed the #1 guy in the Dark One's book EVER. Ishamael has always been the head honcho Chosen, from all accounts I've ever seen and it's still a big deal that Rand killed him, not LTT.

Plus, Pattern or no Pattern, Rand has the "balls" and the smarts to realize you need to balefire a Chosen to get rid of him or her forever, and there's no proof LTT ever did so.

I debated not putting a reply here... but, here it is.

Rand's "feats" are mostly things he's either intuitively figured out or learned from LTT's memories.

We know that LTT was the foremost channeler of his day, which happened to be in the Age of Legends.

We also know that both sides of the War of Power used balefire extensively to the point that the Pattern almost unraveled. I kind of doubt that LTT was just sitting back letting his cronies run around balefiring everyone while he did nothing.

Rand has lead a personal vendetta against a deity; LTT lead a global war against that same deity. Rand has killed a handful of powerful channelers; LTT personally dueled several, and likely killed many more. The fact that LTT had a sa'angraal as his personal weapon points to the fact that he did a lot of the heavy lifting during the battles of the War of Power.

As LTT was, he had centuries of political experience, 100 of them during the Collapse when the Dark One's presence was bringing out the evil in people. He knows how to be devious, he knows how to fight one-on-one duels, and he knows how to take out Rand.

Rand doesn't have those centuries of experience. He had a crash course in Cairhien and during his vendetta against the Chosen and the Dark One, but that wouldn't do it for him.
