The scene at the top of Dragonmount was pretty convincing to me, and the magnitude of the situation was emphasized with Egwenes' scene at the Tower (Egwene: "We don't know what it is, and what is happening on top of Dragonmount, but mark this day, daughter, because I think it is worth remembering.";)

After Rand destroyed the male Choedan Kal, I don't see him wanting that much power ever again. The problem with the True Power is that next to the One Power, it sucks. It gives you a faster way to do things at the expense of your life and sanity, which defeats the purpose.
