The first time I read the series, I really didn't like Nynaeve. She seemed sort of a mini-Cadsuane who thought she was way better than everyone else and that they should all listen to what she said. But, I think she does eventually grow out of that and comes to realize that a lot of the characters she grew up with are.. well, grown up now and have to make their own choices. Plus, she is really passionate about everything she does... I respect that a lot more now than I did on my first read though.

Faile is just boring, though. She has some obsession with manipulating Perrin's (admittedly weak) mind into losing his usually calm composure and berating her. Repeat that times 10 and you have her plot line. The only way I think she can make herself useful/interesting at this point is if she gets involved in a menage a trois including Berelain.
