I don't think we have enough info to be sure ranagrande Send a noteboard - 16/09/2010 10:29:50 PM
The only instances of pure channeler breeding on a scale that might be large enough to draw reliable conclusions, that I know of, are in Shara and during the Age of Legends. We don't have enough specifics about either one to be able to say for certain.

My gut feeling says it does.

I would tend to agree, but again, it's just a theory with no reliable evidence either way.

So... Rand has babies with Elayne... will they be strong channelers or is it impossible to say?

As for strength, I think all their kids will be between Rand and Elayne in strength.

Do you think the same, or do you have other theories? There are many possibilities.... they might have some weak kids, or all the girls will be as strong as Elayne, or the boys as strong as Rand.

That's probably a fairly safe guess either way. If strength is not at all hereditary, than the children would probably be weaker. If it is, and if it improves through generations, which a case can also be made for, then I also wouldn't really be surprised if they turned out stronger than Rand.

How do you think strength in the Power is expressed in the kids of channelers? Will Gawyn 'dilute' Egwene's genes and produce weaker channeling children?

I don't see how this would be a concern. After all, Taringail didn't 'dilute' Morgase's channeling ability; rather it resulted in someone vastly more powerful.

Not strength, just the ability to channel - 16/09/2010 11:11:55 PM 373 Views
