If it's because she doesn't want to be seen as associating with Mat or the Band, she could have sent a disguised messenger.

But I think there might be something going on with her that we don't know about. Maybe she's on a business trip.

She could have disguised herself too. But maybe not, because of the pregnancy.


The clerk didn't give them any kind of note to explain why they weren't welcomed with open arms. I guess she should have given him a note :P. But then he would know. I've never thought she trusted him all that much. and it would be expected that she'd send someone to deal with this army that has just arrived, so she had to send someone official. I don't know.
