Back in CoT, ch.7, Perrin noticed this Super Darkhound Pack in Altara, which was apparently hunting someone with urgency (around 3 months ago in the timeline, IIRC).
It was then mainly speculated that Fain, one of the ta'veren, the gholam, Tuon or Loial might be the prey. However, after TGS and the beginning of ToM, namely the prologue and Mat's first chapter, it seems rather unlikely that either of those characters is actually the one the DH are hunting (at least if the DH aren't really miserable hunters..), because the Pack was never mentioned again.
So, who are the DH actually hunting or what is their task, and where the heck are they?
