First off, Graendal asks if Delana knows compulsion. So no way was it her who taught Delana. And that complicates things...


As for how Graendal figures it out... her dove sees the Access Key in Rand's hand, being used. Graendal panics and thinks that using it is as bad as Balefire. In a flash, she realizes what's about to happen.

It didn't seem too bad to me. The CK scared the Foresaken shitless before too. Comparing its dangers to balefire doesn't seem forced to me.
