I'm rereading the series. I think I'm going to start writing down every instance where RJ describes some fat person being light on their feet. Ok RJ we get it, you were fat and wanted every fat person to be cool. I mean Basil Gil really? Basil Gil, RJ? I'm going to walk around the office right now and see if any of these fat people are light on their feet...
How many interesting corpulent people are there, do you think? The ones that can move quick are the ones who make it into the story.
When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. When the fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown.

Why is every fat person deceptively light on their feet?

Any fat person who is light on their feet IS deceptively so.

Because the fat, slow-moving people were all eaten by Trollocs during the Trolloc Wars

The same reason why almost every main character is drop dead gorgeous. *NM*
