For TGS there'd been the long wait and worry we'd never see WOT finished at all, so there was a high level of anticipation. That's not there this time, so it's less. As much as there was for any pre-TGS both.

From the prologue and chapters 1 & 8 ToM has been closer to 'pure RJ' WOT then TGS was. Whilst still lacking the subtlety of Jordan's writing after TGS and the bits of ToM we've seen so far I'm less worried then I was pre-TGS.

There's still plenty to look forward to in ToM, but there's also Perrin's storyline. Perrin has been a pain to read since he married Faile (who is my least favourite character), so that lessens my anticipation. Though it's offset largely by more Mat.

Especially the last part; I liked TGS (and I think the lesser subtlety in TGS has as much to do with Sanderson still getting a feel for writing someone elses characters as anything) but I'm starting to go through Mat withdrawal. It's been three YEARS since we've had much Mat, and he's the indolent smartass I related to from the start. :( My only quibble (which is VERY minor) is that post-Faile Perrin is (slightly) more bearable when she's around than when she's not.
