The "tear drops" used to symbolize male and female powers in the Wheel of Time lacks the circle that symbolized that each part contains elements of the other as shown in ying and yang - they both constantly transform into each other.

For better or worse, much of the duality prevalent in the Wheel of Time has more to do with showing "separate but equal" versus one flowing into the other. The closest we come to ying and yang in the series is the idea that the Five Powers have two different expressions each, such that a male can do different things with Fire than a woman can. But that theme is once again not equality - it's about respective differences.
