in fact the whole carridin thing is a pretty horrific little sub-thread. there's a moment when he's called upon again by a forsaken or mydrraal, can't remember which and he tells them of cousins he still has that ought to be taken before he is
It is scary that he is so depraved, but his character ceases to be scary in a "What he can do to the good guys" sense around...is it book 4? I really need to start my reread.
I agree with you though, that his behavior is very disturbing.
