Well, pretty much any Mesaana infiltration theory relies on her killing someone and adopting their image, but because that's hard to pull off, it would almost certainly be someone with an antisocial personality, few friends, and lots of free time with no restrictions on movement (ie, a Brown sister) rather than a garrulous personality who's stuck in the kitchens all day for everyone to see.

Or maybe Laras is a Darkfriend and Mesaana sits in her hidden trapdoor cellar all day long.
