Yeah, I guess it makes absolutely no sense that the guy that the Shadow has sent to kill pretty much every other high-value darkfriend that has fallen into the Light's hands or gone rogue would show up to kill Asmodean too...
Maybe if Asmodean had been sleeping at the time, Slayer would seem more likely. Say, if instead of "Death took him", it had said "a limp dick coward stabbed Asmodean while he was napping and chained to a wall" I would totally be standing in the "Slayer did it" camp.
