But seriously, "Callandor" doesn't sound like "Excalibur", which is the name most people attribute to the legendary sword. Unless someone is learned in the Welsh language and Arthurian lore, I doubt anyone would have noticed besides Callandor just being the "sword" stuck in the "Stone" of Tear, and not Caledfwlch (which sounds like "Caledfwelch" to me).

"Mah'alleinir" on the other hand sounds very much like "Mjolnir", added on to the fact that their both enchanted hammers.

Well, having absolutely no idea how to pronounce Mjolnir, I don't find this very different from the Callandor situation, to be honest!

Callandor is also named after Caladbolg. That's the sword of light of the Irish hero Fergus, and the likely (so scholars believe) source of inspiration for the Arthurian Excalibur.

That Perrin got an hammer named after Thor's really didn't surprised me at all. He used to have the Axe of Perun after all (the Slav counterpart of Thor)!
