The Rhuidean Prophecy, mainly. Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 09/11/2010 09:56:43 AM
The passage about Rand saving "the remnant of a remnant" of the Aiel. Aviendha's vision shows us an incredibly prosperous amount of Aiel in the immediate future, and the end of the Aiel so far in the future that it cannot in any realistic fashion be blamed on Rand. Essentially, in this vision Rand did not break the Aiel, he did not save the remnant of a remnant, so either the vision or the Rhuidean Prophecy is in error. And the Rhuidean Prophecy has a demonstrated record of success.

Then there is the Black Tower. Elaida's Foretelling says that the Black Tower will be rent in blood and fire, but Aviendha's vision has their fortress falling to the Seanchan (this is unlikely fulfilment of the Foretelling since the word rent seems to pretty unambiguously refer to the current division in the Black Tower). Obviously the Asha'man might rebuild, or find a new fortress, but most have believed that they would reunite with the Aes Sedai and move into what was to be Elaida's palace.

Incidentally, there's some horrible consistency in there. I'd assumed that "the Court of the Sun" was Cairhien, but Cairhien gets named Cairhien again afterward. Incidentally, the Court of the Sun is apparently a different nation from Andor in that future, so either Elayne doesn't swallow it up in that reality, ot it splits back up later on. Same with the Two Rivers.

It won't happen. Aviendha's vision is inconsistent with existing prophecies. *NM* - 09/11/2010 09:18:42 AM 1299 Views
Could you elaborate? Or generally sum up the prophecies you refer to? *NM* - 09/11/2010 09:25:29 AM 452 Views
