The way it was described, the Taint on men's mind is like a blackness with thorns digging into their minds. I think the 13x13 ones will have something similar--I hope. They're described as seeming hollow, which might mean their soul has been leeched away, but we can hope not!
I saw someone else post that the 13x13 trick worked by suppressing everything that was good about the person. If so, they'll still have a soul to redeem through Healing.
