I'm a bit confused about this.

First, and least importantly, the a'dam situation.

I *believe* we heard from a Seanchan POV how the Aes Sedai are unsuited for battle. That is because, even as a damane, they can't break their oath.

However, if they were in danger, I'm sure they could. They'd have to be at the forefront of the battle. Semirhage literally controlled Rand's power. Now, that's a different a'dam. But, how do damane/sul'dam work? I'm assuming the damane does the actual work. They're the works making the weaves. The sul'dam is just there "giving them permission". Letting them access the power and use it. And if they tried to turn it against the sul'dam, link cut off. However, could the sul'dam actually control the power through them, as Semirhage did with Rand? Now, if that IS the case...

Could a sul'dam, with an oath-bound Aes Sedai, control their power to break the oaths?

Second, Perrin and his new weapon.

The Asha'man asked the other Aes Sedai to link. And he probably did it because he needed the power and because he was afraid of the oaths. Now, once you've given your power in a link, you have no control. They can pull as much or as little of the power as they want through you. (Slight limitation--it's mentioned that being in a link prevents you from overdrawing and burning out). So, I'm ASSUMING the Aes Sedai managed to create a power-wrought weapon because they had given their power over and had no more control. But, this brings up another point.

If the Aes Sedai simply link to someone without the oath, can they bypass that this easily? And, to what degree? First time, they knew nothing of what was going to happen. If the asha'man had said "Hey, I'm going to use your power to create a weapon" and the Aes Sedai fully believes him...will the oaths prevent her from doing it?
