I suggest you reread the book. Elayne's primary goal is the prosperity of Andor. The secondary goal is the Last Battle.

Of all the laughably ridiculous things you said in that post this has to top them all. In fact it is so obviously false I can't help but think it must be maliciously so. Obviously if Andor is to survive let alone prosper the Last Battle must be won. That makes it the #1 priority by default.

Now it's true that would also be Cairhein and Ghealdan's first priority. But it is also true that they would not be in as good a position to survive said battle independent as they would be part of the Andoran Empire. Now the armed might of the whole central region of the continent can be pooled and coordinated to best effect. An attack on Cairhein, Ghealdan or Andor can now be responded to by the other two more quickly and with far more force. As we saw in the Trolloc Wars allies (and the compact was a far tighter alliance then what exists now) waging war together are not as effective as one centralized nation. Elayne was the only person who could have achieved this that was not Furtona. And unless one is a fan of slavery I assume you would favor Elayne over Furtona.

As for your weak attempts to paint Elayne as power hungry, she offered the Throne to Dyelin in KOD, Elayne only holds the throne because Dyelin turned her down.
When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. When the fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown.

I don't have any problems with this - they are trying to get more power to survive. - 09/11/2010 04:08:22 PM 708 Views
If that power is needed to survive, how will those she takes it from survive? - 09/11/2010 09:23:15 PM 675 Views
