I'm not comparing Egwene to bin Laden. That would be idiotic, considering one is a real person with actual motivations and the other is a cardboard cutout fantasy character with no real depth.

The point is that everyone, even the most awful of people, tend to think that they're doing good. In fact, the more convinced they are, the less likely they are to be actually doing good. The disconnect between reality and self-perception is there.

I'm honestly surprised that clarification is needed, or, for that matter, that this post exists in the first place. It's self-evident that most people think they're good people. Few would say, "Yes, I'm a bloodthirsty tyrant" or "I'm an evil person". If they do think that, chances are they're insignificant and invisible to those around them and desperate for attention.
