I just want to point out that the "Mother" thing was inconsistent

Yet I do not ever recall a moment (even when he was PsychoRand) where he forces his friends, or even his mere friendly acquaintances, to address him by title, whether in public or private.
I don't have much of a point. It just irritated me in the book.
Egwene never made her friends address her by title in private. In fact she hated it in LoC. And to me it wasn't a change in character over time but a change in author. Nynaeve had no trouble calling her Mother in public before either. It just suddenly appeared in ToM out of nowhere that it's so difficult for her to call Egwene "Mother." Elayne calls her "Egwene" several times in Winter's Heart and it doesn't bother Egwene in the slightest. And it was not a long time ago. CoT took up about a week. We're talking maybe one month before The Gathering Storm.
The same thing occurred with Mat and Elayne. Mat was super nice to Egwene in LoC, calling her Mother in front of the Aes Sedai who were disrespecting her. Then in Towers of Midnight when Elayne wants him to call her Queen in public, he thinks to himself "well, he supposed that made sense" as if it was this big surprise to him.
