So whence comes the One Power then? Joel Send a noteboard - 15/11/2010 09:10:07 PM
Moridin is the DO's Champion, and Rand is the Creator's Champion.

We all know that Moridin is allowed to used the DO's very own essence, the True Power.

I'm fairly sure the Creator has accorded Rand a similar privilege. I don't know what to call it...Creator Power(CP), maybe?

Creator's a lot less stingy with it, too, but then, he's not a SOB.

The TP is the very essence of the DO. The OP is the force that drives the Wheel of Time. I would not be so quick to discount the existance of a third force. So much of this world seems to be trios, it seems to be a theme.

Doesn"t mean there is a third power, But I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it

Sure, just show me some third party comparable to the Creator and DO to provide it. Three may be the magic number, but the dialectic is MUCH more fundamental, and that's understood in a world as Manichean as Randland. In fact, as valid a question would be why there ISN'T (so far as has been seen) a power source like the TP and OP derived directly from the Creator, since both the DO and some as yet unknown powerful being each provide one.

There's no reason to believe such a thing, and every reason to believe otherwise, so I do.
