But the events of WH are less than 6 months prior darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 19/11/2010 10:07:21 PM
"Winter's Heart" was about five books ago, and Birgitte had repeatedly mentioned that her memories of her prior lives were fading. In that case it would make sense that she would forget all of the times the sword was not a good selection for her if she needed to use it - I think the important thing about her POV from that "Winter's Heart" chapter is that it was implied that she chose the sword multiple times and I think it was because in those other lifetimes, that was the best weapon to use, even if she almost got killed. That's why I think the same situation is going to come up soon.

even still from the quote you can still easily infer that despite her memory loss she remembers that carrying a sword is BAD.

Maybe she's forgetting those older memories about why she didn't like them? - 19/11/2010 09:15:47 PM 663 Views
seems like a pretty dramatic turn around IMO - 19/11/2010 09:32:41 PM 671 Views
But if her memories of her prior lives when disaster occurred are fading, it would make sense. - 19/11/2010 09:55:24 PM 606 Views

She does mention that it annoys her but she has to wear it. - 28/11/2010 12:25:46 PM 584 Views
It's a slip, almost as bad as showing Aiel carrying swords. *NM* - 19/11/2010 10:13:23 PM 278 Views
