I've never understood how the Lan/Nynaeve thing got off the ground. In EOTW they were platonic at best, and only a short while later he said his soul would die if she died. I thought it was all very unrealistic.
I'm not as awesome as deadsy, so I'll not be getting the book out, however, they show appreciatiation for each other early on. For instance, after Aridhol (sp) when they get separated and escape the city, Nynaeve sneaks up on Moiraine and Lan through the woods. He was surprised, and that impressed him. Also, she was happy that he was impressed.
This one too was very subtle. But there were also several comments by Moiraine to Lan about which woman he'd choose to save if it came down to it.

It doesn't really answer it. It was there if you read between the lines. Maybe not enough to satisfy

It was there, but it never made any sense at all.

It's been made abundantly clear throughout the series that women of all ages are attracted to Thom
