that's a possibility. personally, i think lews therin had a good reason for not using callandor, and i don't think callandor will be the final solution this time around either. rafo i guess.

when it comes to why the pattern influences some events and not others, i feel like it's best just to invoke bellisario's maxim. but i guess if we all thought that way, scifi and fantasy would end up getting a lot more sloppy due to lack of author accountability.
