Furthermore, what would Moiraine have done if she could channel against them? If she'd killed them all she would have gotten lost and died of starvation.
That wouldnt stop Lanfear tho, she'd kill every one until they told her how to get out, or well she should be able to gateway out.
Basically we can say they have all these powers to control channelers, and it appears they have, but we've never seen any ability of theirs that does these things.
