As I said in another post, we've spent a lot of time talking about why Rand can/can't trust Cadsuane, but very little talking about why Cadsuane couldn't trust Rand. After his epiphany, she finds that she can trust him, and that makes us fans like her much more.

I'd say this is due to the POV trap where we understand Rand's actions and role much more thoroughly than most characters and therefore lend him undue faith and trust, and get annoyed when other characters treat him like the little boy he was acting as in early TGS.
