Matt's letter to Elayne The Silver Snake Send a noteboard - 29/11/2010 05:08:35 AM
Because I've complained about the lack of such things in these books before...

I had a stupidly happy grin on my face when Perrin gave Mat a hug. It was a genuine, sweet moment in which you could really believe these guys were 'best friends' back in the Two Rivers. It wasn't as touching as the Ron/Harry hug in Deathly Hollows (I'll say no more), but it was so adorable somehow.

Am I alone? Even if the scene ended with Perrin 'easing the badger'--I loved that scene.

Other lovely moments: Galad sees Morgase. Awww... Rand cries in Tam's arms. Then he introduces his girlfriend. It was sweet.

And although Olver's POV was short, I liked how he felt he had to take care of Mat. I wasn't thrilled with Mat's many fond remebrances of Tylin throughout this book, but I liked his sweetly paternal thoughts of Olver.

And I must admit, I liked the idea of Teslyn coming to Mat's rescue in the fight with the gholam.

I laughed so much reading his letter. It was so adorable, I nearly started crying!
"Courage to strengthen, fire to blind, music to dazzle iron to bind."

Finally, Moiraine is free to rain down her fiery majesty on all those who would oppose the Light.

Lady +1. The content was right, but the mistakes were overdone - 29/11/2010 05:42:32 PM 692 Views
The tone was right. The content was wrong. *NM* - 29/11/2010 11:44:33 PM 374 Views
Especially since in aCoS we already have an example of his writing and it's perfectly fine. - 30/11/2010 01:07:49 AM 735 Views
Maybe we're supposed to think Mat intentionally wrote it that way - 30/11/2010 07:47:45 AM 729 Views
I considered this and do not entirely dismiss it. - 30/11/2010 11:52:47 AM 696 Views
