When a man and a woman are linked are they able to roughly gauge each others strength in the power? And does strength factor into who takes control of the link at all when it is between a man and a women?
I seem to recall Merise saying once that her Asha'man Warder was about the same strength in the Power as her, and that once he reached his full potential he would be stronger than her. She wasn't too fond of that last thought, iirc. But that means there must be some way for her to judge his strength. Maybe it's the same way one can judge the strength of an angreal, since linking means seizing power through the person you're linking with in a similar way to seizing power through an angreal.

On a side note, now that there are no more Nym is it even possible for the song to be sung?
Ogier can still Treesing without Nym. Maybe that means that the Song could still be sung, but just not as well.
