it could have been Alsalam darius_sedai Send a noteboard - 11/12/2010 08:53:30 PM
...in the information that she exchanged to Mesaana. Particularly since Alsalam is a bit on the suspicious side.

Apparently Alsalam never was in Graendal's hands. On the other hand, there also was't any real relevance in Noal's plotline of a possible Compulsion by Graendal, as some suspected (the whole thing about him not being able to remember something important seems to be pretty irrelevant now). Of course, maybe Noal might yet escape from Finnland somehow, but it seems rather doubtful.

So, who was the old man in Graendal's lair and what was the significance?

Graendal clearly interacted with him at some point since she told Sammael Alsalam was "not up to her standards" ... seems obvious to me that she probably brought him in, Compelled him to some extent (perhaps to stay hidden) and set him loose ... at some point AS whisked him away for "safe keeping". Now him being he old man in NB is a totally different question!
