Min's viewing of Alivia is almost unique in terms of how certain she is. There is only one other viewing that comes close - that Rand will lose without Moiraine.
I wonder if Moiraine's return will enable her to take Alivia's place as Rand's second female channeler and prevent this vision from occurring.
That would be anticlimactic, but I still have trouble fully believing that Min's viewings can be completely certain.
Otherwise, I kind of like the Gentling idea. One possible twist here is that Rand will be captured, and before he can be 13+13'd, Alivia will Gentle him to prevent that possibility (assuming that Gentling will prevent it: I'm not sure if this has been proven or disproved).
