Narishma looks nothing like an Aiel... He's got dark eyes and hair, pretty much the coloring of Alanna Mosvani. He's described as having pale skin like her, by the way. He's sun darkened because he worked outdoor. Had he been a noble or merchant, he would have the dark but nordic look of Alanna (Arafellins seem to look a bit Finnish, their coloring anyway).

The Aiel also are pale skinned with sun darkened skin. They aren't brown skinned or ruddy, implying that they are tanned because of where they live.

Sun-darkened skin is not a genetic trait of the Aiel. They have the appearance of the ancient celts, with pale eyes (blue, grey, green) and most of them have tones of blond or red hair. They've become sun-darkened because they live in the desert.

Yes; the point is that the description of his skin matches what we know of the Aiel. It seems strange to me that for a people known to have pale skin such as the Arafellin, Narishma is pointedly mentioned to be tanned. Especially since many people who are born with pale skin don't tan - they tend to burn. Once again, I don't have that much evidence - it just seems to me that there is more than meets the eye here, and we really don't have that much knowledge of Arafellin history or customs.

I really haven't been convinced that Callandor is important to winning Tarmon Gaidon. - 21/12/2010 04:32:18 PM 1004 Views

Yeah, it's too bad none of the Forsaken have shown any signs of being conflicted - 21/12/2010 05:13:26 PM 811 Views
Maybe the flaw in Callandor magnifying the taint will stop the DO from cutting off access to the TP *NM* - 21/12/2010 05:18:04 PM 396 Views
