I've wondered about that too. There should at least be some stories of very old women in some villages. I would guess RJ didn't consider it important enough to mention.
As for the comments about the Wisdoms not slowing because they didn't channel often: my understanding is that the strength of the channeler determines how much they slow, not the frequency of channeling.
