It's universal ... The damane fight much the same way

Channelers in the series almost always fight as a collection of individuals. Even the AS don't link and fight in groups unless they are pushed into extreme situations... And only then if they planned it ahead (Salidar AS plan for an attack by the Forsaken). Generals like Ituralde are just just now figuring out how to use them in battle. The Seanchan should know better, but innovations in channeling don't exist so they use the same battle weaves and pretty much nothing more until they capture AS, WF or WOs who can add to the weaves they already know.
We should probably remember that the AM have only been channeling for a short while and are probably still figuring out best practices too.

Make one razor-thin strand of Air. Move it violently down the battlefield. Done. *NM*

Concurrance. Given what we know they can do, channelers are idiotic in battle. *NM*

It's the same thing that happens with all powerful characters in TV shows and movies all the time.

Weaves don't have "edges". The weave creates an effect; the effect may simulate a sharp edge.
