IMO, Rand will be the link between the TP and the OP, used in tandem to fuse his soul into the rift of the Pattern. The tear in the Pattern surely touches both realms--that of the Creator and the prison of the DO. Both the DO and the Creator must exist in balance, and it only makes sense that both sides must be sealed.
