You know, I used to argue that it was very poetic.

..I don't make that argument anymore.

Although it's way better than some of the shit I've seen from L.E. Modesit (the first book that he published) in which I distinctly recall some of the scenes being written as such:

Ping!
Clink!
Thud!
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiieeeeee!"


Next to that, I'll take Cats Dancing on Hot Sand any day of the week.
