It seems reasonable that Fain has a big role to play yet, but... ursidae Send a noteboard - 22/07/2011 11:09:42 PM
... it would be rather lame if he was directly involved in defeating the DO; it would be too similar to the LotR in my opinion.

I think Flinn knows how to seal off the DO. He's done it before.

Recall when Flinn 'healed' Rand's wound after being slashed by Fain. He shielded Rand from them, and let them go at each other. It's the nature of the DO's evil vs Shadar Logoth evil.

Rand used this concept when he cleansed Saidar. He channeled the Tainted infected power into Sharad Logoth, and the two evils eradicated each other.

Once Rand destroys the Seals, the DO is going to have a jump in power. He may be too powerful for Rand to just 'seal off' willy-nilly.

So. Theory: Flinn takes Fain, tosses him into the Bore (so to speak), weaking the DO, so Rand can Seal the Bore.

I'm pretty sure Rand won't seal the Bore at all. - 23/07/2011 10:21:41 AM 612 Views
