Marrying a woman just to make your real object of desire happy is a dubious proposition at best.
Dubious as it is, there's mounds of evidence to say that this is exactly the way Aiel societies behave. Multiple times we've heard that often, Aiel women who are sisters or who have adopted each other as sisters will marry the same man, with little or no input from the man himself. I doubt it's all cheese and crackers all the time as a result.
