Aside from the sheer strength of Rand, who was always assumed to be stronger than anyone by virtue of who and what he was, there has been little to no acknowledgment of this in the series itself, beyond possibly explaining why a circle is always used on a man. The things that are likely un-ironed details would include the Reds watching Logain so closely that Rand commented. In fact, from what we later see, they would feel any interference with the shield and have no need to physically watch him (why would they put the most dangerous channeler they have ever taken [Rand]in a box, AFTER he has shown how dangerous he can be by killing the Warders? ). There's other stuff, but Dom's rationale makes too much sense to write those things off as writer errors.
