I tend to think so as well, though some of it may be done on purpose. Another example I can think of is at the end of The Great Hunt, when Min is hugging Rand, and Lanfear shows up. When she disappears, there is no opening of gateways or anything, she's just suddenly gone, if I remember correctly.
