What puzzle me more is Nynaeve and Egwene, neither of which is bonded to Rand the way Elayne, Min, Aviendha, Alanna are, nor the way Perrin, Mat and Rand are. The only thing that seems obvious is that Rand and Egwene must re create a viable working relationship during TG and before Shayol Ghul.
But we'll see. For all the "soft belly" of the mid-series, there's no denying Jordan has prepared his finale well. He put in places so many elements it's hard to guess on anything but the great lines.

I was considering the possibility that Egwene, if she is Latra Posae Decume Reborn, might be the one to be in a group that would wield Callandor against the remaining Forsaken. Latra earned the title Shadar Nor/Cutter of Shadow, and combine that with the subtly altered way Arthurian legends have been used by RJ, it seems to imply that Callandor might be collectively wielded by Egwene, Narishma and Logain, with some form of sharing of leadership (perhaps with Narishma leading while Egwene and Logain supported him - a position that both could learn from, though Egwene might be able to do this more readily than the latter). Especially the legend the prophecy:
"Into the heart he thrusts his sword, into the heart, to hold their hearts. Who draws it out shall follow after. What hand can grasp that fearful blade?"
I've said Narishma has a greater significance to the story that we won't see come to fruition until after Tarmon Gaidon, but I'm starting to think he will come to his significance during it. The prophecy seems to indicate that Callandor has been passed on from Rand to another, and Rand & Co are so focused on the Power as a solution that they are concentrating too hard on a sa'angreal. Just a possibility.
"Those who think they have no time for bodily exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness."

think the most likely answer is that RJ hadn't yet ironed out all of the details concerning the OP *NM*

But it makes much less sense - the greater strength of men in general has had negligible impact

It's of more interest to fans than to anyone else (except, I guess, Aes Sedai).

I love that scene, mainly because it made her think twice about glibly thinking he's crazy.

Early Moiraine sucks. Actually, pre-finn Moiraine sucks. We should really be hoping for a change.

I still think Moiraine's Illian plan for Rand was the most epic fail in the series

Personally, I think it has everything to do with the sparks and not the Power.
