Well that's your opinion, which I don't agree with. I think it implies that something must touch the DO... Lews Therin said as much.

No, it implies that to use LTT's method from the WOS you need to touch the DO, and that LTT has only considered methods to get rid of the Bore that forced him to touch the DO directly.

It is clearly the connundrum, you've got at least that right, but it doesn't mean the resolution will be to find a way to use seals on the Bore again, without touching the DO. It may be that the problem of how to get rid of the Bore has to be approached differently altogether. Keep in mind that the taint on saidin wasn't the only problem: this proved to be a temporary solution, the seals will remain in reach of Shai'tan that will corrupt them with the TP over time. It may well be that it's the whole method of placing seals directly on the Bore that needs to be abandonned for a more impredictable solution.

Rand cannot use the TP at SG anyway, RJ said in very certain terms that using the TP at SG would fry the user instantly.

The only reason I could see for Rand to use the TP is to break the last seals if those are still holding too much to crumble at mere touch. Brandon has confirmed there's only two ways to destroy Cuendillar: using the True Power or a way known in the AOL that Brandon has apparently confirmed (I'm still doubtful he really did, myself. I rather think it may be an obvious third way Brandon thought of) to be unravelling the Pattern.

Min had a viewing of a black hand holding Callandor. It seems a good possibility that Shaidar Haran (not obvious which other black hand this could be in the viewing) will get Callandor and maybe is even able to destroy it with the TP. That may be what the "red herring" of the prophecy is all about: to seem to provide the indispensable tool with which to seal the Bore, and then have the antagonists seize it during the LB, which would make the characters (and readers) "freak out".

If Cadsuane can surmise that Callandor has to be the sword mentionned in the prophecy, you can be sure Moridin has also considered the possibility.

The other possibility is that SH will get his hand on Callandor only in the SG scenes.
