the DKS image was horrid. Was that really how the pyre was supposed to look? looked rather goofy and unformed. and unnaturally high given its structure.
It might look generic to those unfamiliar with WOT. For those that are intimately familiar with WOT, it is anything but generic.
Its not a fencing sword. And he isn't using it as a sword. He also has the look of guarding.

I scrolled down after I posted it and saw the big picture. The picture as a whole is not bad but it's going to be printed around a book cover so the front part should be good enough on itself.
The DKS had its own problems of course but for me it was more interesting. He had some horrid work but this was way better than the gathering storm one.
Rand is looking like he's posing, sword grip is wrong (I think callandor is not feather weight) and the background is not the pit of the devil by any stretch. Making the picture realistic by using real life models and cave pictures is good but it ended looking like a picture of a real world cave with someone posing with a fake sword.
